TIL Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA has a geoduck named Speedy as their mascot. I think they did a pretty good job! The reduced shell and enlarged siphon are both there, and the siphon is where the mouth would go. Geoducks, however, have no eyes. The green shell appears to be encrusted by algae, but that would be unlikely in a real geoduck, where the shell is deep in the substrate. I am so enthusiastic to see a real clam mascot that I am fine with these stylistic tweaks! #clamFacts
