I started writing when my cat wouldn't stop batting at my paintbrush. Or was it when I spit out a "collaborative" story during math class that was due that afternoon? When I struggled to get far into books because I kept imagining my own? When I shared bits from my "journal" and a friend liked it? When my teacher and my mother laughed at my goofy poems? Maybe it was when I started throwing imaginary fish and wouldn't eat my wormy soup.
