It is absolutely amazing how many miles of thread/yarn it takes to make a garment or other item, ex. the average Viking sail took 60 miles of thread/yarn. Thread that was hand-spun by women around the world from the Neolithic to the Industrial Age.
I love reading about the more constructive human facets of history like food, music, architecture, textiles, etc.
