I’ve just been treating the “AI overview” the same way that I treat the adverts: the top two inches of the search results have always been useless, now it’s the top three.
Is it starting to eat itself?
Yes. Well, train rather than eat: there’s now so much AI-generated nonsense online that it’s creeping into the training data. Only going to get worse, snowball-style, from here on.
