I enjoyed Bitcoin Isn't About You (npub1xap…cnde)'s recap of Mircea Perpescu's decade-old projection of where Bitcoin's potential destinations may lie
Completely agree that the first scenario is an utter failure for Bitcoin as it constitutes complete capture and denies citizens the potential for financial freedom. With over 94% of issuance, the vast majority in private hands, I see today's risk of this existing but diminishing. No question that many governments and quasi-government agencies are seeking this though.
The second scenario where there is contention between seeking the first scenario and the individuals who actively route around that is where we are .. obviously at different levels/stages depending upon where in the world you live today. This is the most likely scenario I see .. it will be painful and drawn out .. and necessary.
The last scenario - a squillion forks of bitcoin sharing monetary value - is one that to me, looks to be largely laid to rest. Maybe Craig or Roger are still clinging to this "vision", as are a multitude of multi-coin proponents. Yet there seems to be compelling historical evidence over not just decades or centuries, but millennia, that money tends to one.
The hard yards lie ahead and it is a road worth traveling.
