My concern is just the overarching belief that listening to musicians is inherently supporting them somehow, like it’s baked into the culture that once you’ve heard a song that’s all the support you need to give it.

Like, I get a lot of nice comments about the songs of mine on RFF but comments don’t pay the bills.
