i like these little details because for hundreds of years, capitalist ideology has trained westerners to think of everything as a contest--life as a battle with winners and losers--even viewing nature through the lens of this self-serving ideology. but cooperation and coexistence are **much** more common than violence, conquest, and domination, in nature and in human society.
