BestBuy in the US/CA is currently selling a new Asus laptop for $120 (4 GB ram, 64gb emmc, 1080p screen, fast-enough cpu). This is ideal if you're looking for a cheap computer to run Linux on. While Windows on it is slow with 4 gb of RAM, Linux with something like Linux Mint or XFce fliy on it (I would'n't use gnome/kde-based Fedora or Ubuntu, they use too much ram too compared to Cinnamon or XFce).
