I see that the Treasury has refused to budge on shifts on inheritance tax that have led farmers & their supporters.... goaded on by wealthy landowners likely to lose much of the benefit of investing in agricultural land.
Treasury has rejected a compromise put forward by Dan Neidle (a well known tax campaigner) for family farmland only to attract IHT if it was sold within a specified period after being inherited; to protect family farms.
So, what will farmers do now?
