"content": "Yeh, I understand his point. My point is that I don’t think you can say they were unlucky just because a stat might suggest they were. They weren’t. They were second best. At no point did Spain need to change gear once they were 3-0 up. The game is completely different when you’re 3-0 up/down. What was the xG at half time? And even on 70 minutes? Spain dominated and were the deserved winners. Chance after chance at 3-0 down means nothing, especially when none of them alter the scoreline and the cushion for Spain remains the same. I’m not anti stats but looking at xG in hindsight and thinking it means Croatia were unlucky is false in this case.",
