Aside: My father was an artist (trained as a fine artist though eventually became a commercial art director to pay the bills) absolutely hated Warhol, for reasons I never fully understood. It was really visceral and deeply felt. I think he thought he trivialized the artistic process and deliberately focused too much attention on Warhol the personality rather than on the work. Warhol was hardly alone in that regard, of course.
