Besides that, people don't understand how shortly the identity of Teenager has been around, Category is as old as time, but due to how fast people matured and other factors what started as an adult didn't move until the 19th and 20th century. However Teenager was a helpful term for a stage in time where kids (general term) start to rebel and break off from their parents and become individuals, the process is controlled to various degrees. However after the Greatest Generation and Boomers the infantile Teenager problem started to emerge, people started treating teens more and more like adults and kids at the same time, which culminated in Gen Z where they're treated both like adults and kids which causes even more emotional and mental distress. Which pushes them into groups both left and right wing. It's a sad process
