I grew up in a catholic country (we're homogenous in every way here), not knowing much about other christians apart from historical facts and general principles. I used to think that catholics are strict and all protestants are modern! not abusive! normal!
imagine my shock when I learned about USAmerican flavours of christianity. it's been years, and I'm still in awe.
edit: I mean in awe of the level of radical insanity.
