So, if my functional threshold pace is 6:45/mile and I ran an easy run at 8:15/mile for a duration of 1:08:06, then:
rTSS = 3674/36 × (6.75/8.25)² ~= 68.34
I'm only slightly cheating with the pace. I calculated FTP/NGP, right? Yes, but
FTP = 6:45/mile = 6.75/mile ~= 8.89 mph
NGP = 8:15/mile = 8.25/mile ~= 7.27 mph
Now if I calculate NGP/FTP, it'll be correct, right?
rTSS = 3674/36 × (7.27/8.89)² ~= 68.24 (rounding error)
It's the same ratio, just less #math.
