I go into women's prisons regularly to bring 12 step meetings. I've been to a men's unit once but my husband isn't okay with me doing that. I was very uncomfortable even though the men were as respectful and kind as could be. They just rarely see any women, other than the Nigerians TDCJ likes to hire to police American offenders. Men's prisons are very very different.
