Each of these uber rich is working towards their own interests. They see what these things individually will do to their bottom lines and find moralizing ways to justify them to themselves. I don't think they do have grand long term strategy. I don't think they are thinking about what it will ultimately mean for them or anyone else. Not really. They are just rationalizing their selfishness.
