Horses consume a *lot* of mass compared to trucks per tonne-kilometer of materiel transported, and require lots of labour-intensive care. The only way they're better is for off-road mobility, and that's where helicopters shine. (A medium cargo chopper can carry 2-5 tons for 200km over broken ground in an hour. Horses ... 250kg each and 7-10 days! So 200-500 horses/chopper!)",
