This is kind of obvious now that I think about it, but seeing the relative levels of engagement on different kinds of self-promotion post (yesterday's did extremely poorly, in both relative and absolute terms <
https://mastodon.social/@glyph/112379604151417155>, whereas in the past some have done quite well) I think that effective patreon self-promotion needs to include a salient link to a specific *thing* that is interesting, like a blog post or a PyPI release, rather than gesturing at the mystery behind paywalled stuff
