My wife and I don't feel safe trying to start a family in the US because she has a medical issue that makes her prone to pregnancy complications, and the increasingly prevalent abortion laws would force doctors and me to watch her die if anything goes wrong, so yeah, we left in part because staying has a real chance of literally killing her.

Plus, there's the whole overall fascist takeover. And the millions of propaganda chugging fucking idiots. And we both work in the sciences, which said idiots are growing increasingly distrusting of and vitriolic towards. And we have friends and family in groups at risk of being targeted by vitriolic idiots, and we want to be able to offer them help getting to safety if it gets much worse.
