I have been given a used Dell laptop and I am installing Linux on it. It had Intel Rapid Storage Technology enabled by default, so I went into the bios and changed the SATA setting to ACHI. I am now doing a clean install of Windows and will follow that by installing Linux Mint, but I see 6 partitions, one being “Dell Support” and one being “Image” which is 12.3 GB. Does anyone know what the image partition is? I would have preferred a clean Windows install with no manufacturer bloatware.
