Walked along the wetland trail with a friend and saw gadwalls, pintails, bufflehead, eared and pied-billed grebes, coots, canvasbacks, hooded mergansers, a green heron, and some wigeons (my first time spotting these!). So much beautiful grey and cinnamon and green and all the retro-adjacent autumn colors. The season cartoonist Rosemary Mosco calls "weird duck time" has begun in earnest in Southern Oregon.
