The ground water still has 11°C after several days below 0°C - but if you think of using it for heating...well...

I asked the planning department about a ground water heat pump for our house. Pump up in one location, pump through a heat exchanger of the heat pump and sink the unchanged water in another well.

They demanded
- publicly appointed and sworn hydrologist for a survey of
-- local hydrology
-- influence of the planned system to environment and possible other heat pumps in the vicinity
-- etcetera
- only certified equipment for the heat pump
- certified drilling company
- publicly appointed and sworn hydrologist to measure and certify amount of pumped water and temperature delta
- ...

I.e. they demanded the same paper work and surveys as for a heat pump on industrial scale for the next city.

My wife is a refrigeration engineer. The company she works for builds heat pumps on an industrial scale - but she would not have been allowed to design the system for us as her private self.

So if I'd tap the ground water for heating my greenhouse, I'd risk some serious trouble.
