It's great that it's so easy to fork a project on GitHub and experiment with some improvements or fixes that may or may not be upstreamed at some point.
But that's not a governance model. 😅
If a well-established, oft-used project's policy around significant community disagreements is “Well you're welcome to fork it. Goodbye.”
That's generally treated as a social issue alone, not one which might actually be preventable *using* forge-based technology.
