Your base assumption is that extending the longevity of the US empire is a good and desirable thing - I disagree. It needs to end for the world to know any peace whatsoever.
It would be better off fragmenting back into States with regional trade blocs, having the blues and the reds separate geographically as well as politically.
Maintaining the overarching state will be awful for the West. Of course they will try, but it’s not a desirable outcome.
