Today I doubled the memory in a server to 64GB and everything is so much better now. This cost me 120 euros. This is for a full text index on >150GB of documents, and the index is 17GB. But it still feels like cheating to use that much RAM. However, if you can solve your problem for 120 euros that is also a big win. 1/
