Rahul Gandhi urges UP CM to increase compensation for Hathras Stampede victims

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, urging him to increase the compensation for the victims of the Hathras stampede. Gandhi visited Hathras to meet the victims' families and called for severe punishment for those responsible for the tragedy. The stampede occurred at a self-styled godman's 'Satsang' in Hathras, resulting in the deaths of 121 people, mostly women. Adityanath had announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured, but Gandhi deemed this amount insufficient and called for an increase.
