Automating "extracting officer information from documents – specifically, the officer's name and the role the officer played in the wrongful conviction" was a key step to freeing innocent people from prison, and an LLM allowed HRDAG - a tiny, cash-strapped, excellent nonprofit - to make a giant leap forward in a vital project.
