I need to find a better way of creating images (e.g. network diagram) for my presentations.

At the moment, I'm using draw.io, but I've having problems getting high resolution outputs.

Do you know of a different simple to use, FOSS, way of generating images consisting of some (stock?) icons, interconnecting lines, and some text? If so, please do share!
