"content": "if we want to exempt people on lower income from paying for university, then the question is, wouldn't it be easier to just fund it via a progressive income tax. People who earn more pay more. Simple. There might be some people that earn well despite not having a university degree, but then their earning might still indirectly benefit from the education of others. The only justification for having a cost is to discourage people taking \"less productive courses\", but if we exempt people that earn little despite their degree, that counters exactly this, so what is the point...",
