Looking back to when the Dems caved under their donor class’s pressure to replace Biden after his dismal debate appearance, and seeing Harris picked as the candidate, I was sure the Dems were going to lose because I thought the US was not ready to elect a black/Asian woman as president, because racism.
As Harris’ campaign went on and she deftly handled Trump’s jabs at the debates, and masterfully crafted a social media and grassroots outreach program, and consistently turned out enthusiastic crowds, I began to think that maybe…just maybe…we were actually ready for this, and this could be a historic moment.
As the results came in two nights ago, I was reminded that the US is not ready to elect a black/Asian woman as president…because racism?
