NixOS -> 1, a-a-ron -> 0. I boosted in a while back saying I’m switching from Windows to NixOS as my daily. Well, NixOS is kicking my butt. I decided to switch to Kubuntu because I am most familiar with Ubuntu (because of my job), and I play games with friends on that PC. I was spending more time troubleshooting Nix than anything I was doing at my job. I realized that I need this PC to be my “come home and relax” computer. BUT, that doesn’t mean I’m done trying to wrangle the beast! I have switched one of my dev servers to NixOS and it makes so much more sense. I come from a container background and run basically everything with docker/compose, so that helps with migration to Nix. At some point I’ll try it on a workstation again, but it is FANTASTIC as a server. Might be moving my whole rack to it (where it makes sense). Love the podcasts, and thanks for introducing NixOS. P.S. still using Nix package manager so that is a plus.
