Fairies are autistic AIs in drone bodies. I remember in Polarized Light, the fight against KCCO was so gruesome, the Heavy Ordnance Corps units had their guns destroyed but they kept throwing the mortar shells and shit at the enemy.
And some fairies strapped themselves in ordnance and flew towards the enemies too
