I noted my skepticism about the the Menlo Security post yesterday (https://infosec.exchange/@dangoodin/112051661373196937). Today, a company spox emailed me the following statement in response:

"Pursuant to the protocols governing the protection of Human Intelligence (HUMINT) assets and the integrity of ongoing investigations, we hereby assert that we possess credible intelligence from vetted HUMINT sources. The identities of these sources are withheld to ensure their safety and to maintain operational security, in accordance with established intelligence community guidelines and legal frameworks. This matter is currently under active investigation, and all pertinent intelligence has been and will continue to be, disseminated to the relevant Law Enforcement Agencies (LAE) as deemed necessary and appropriate under the circumstances.

We are committed to adhering to the highest standards of legal and ethical conduct in the handling of sensitive intelligence. Disclosure of further information to the public domain will be contingent upon receiving the requisite clearances and ensuring that such disclosures do not compromise the safety of our sources or the integrity of ongoing investigative efforts. Rest assured, we will provide additional information to the public as and when it becomes possible to do so without violating legal obligations or jeopardizing the safety and security of involved parties.

We emphasize that all assertions herein are articulated using the language of probability, adhering to the standards established for intelligence analysis; no definitive claims are made."
