#WritersCoffeeClub Ch 5 Nbr 5 — Is it okay to use a preposition at the end of a sentence? Well, is it?

It is more than all right! If the dialect of the speaker or the narrator demands it, I always freely use the construction. Furthermore, even if neither dialogue or narration doesn't, if having to go through convolutions ties me up in knots, I'll choose to use the preposition at the end of the sentence for clarity. Writing should always be transparent to the reader, and if sticking to what many consider a totally obsolete rule makes a sentence even slightly hard to parse, I won't do it. (I might recast the sentence to avoid the preposition, but I don't do it to comply with the rule.)
