Good article, but my wife is very cynical about long Asian marriages in particular. Just because you don't divorce doesn't mean you aren't "separated under one roof".
And one very silly older gent I know won't divorce his cheating wife because he doesn't want to lose his house. His kids already left and he could totally buy a new house (or two) with even 50% of his assets, but he likes the one he has lol. Not a choice I'd make.
Would be interesting to see a breakdown of divorce rates by household wealth.
