Plastic is plastic; it doesn't matter whether it's made from plants or fossil fuels - which are just old plants. Viscose, lyocell, and polyester are made from plant cellulose, which is just as bad for the environment as nylon, PVC, or whatever is made from oil. Just as indigestible and with the same additives. Except for the extra addition of greenwash, lies, delusion, and a false sense of security. (Oh, and "biodegradable" plastics are no better - it just means they break down to release their toxic additives and microparticles quicker.
