I saw an exhibit of Vivian Maier's work back in 2011, not long after her death and when her work was first discovered here in Chicago. It was an incredible show, deep and wide.
She spent decades taking pictures because it was a thing she loved to do, with no knowledge that she would have a legacy or how widely her work would be shared and appreciated.
