A few words about #Nudstr
We are born naked and throughout our lives we learn to hide our nakedness- for reasons of protection and of social conventions.
Sometimes art serves as a medium through which we can free ourselves from these constraints, but even in the realm of creative expression, there are many different interpretations, each informed by unique experiences or biases.
Nudity in art always has something to do with rebelling against social conventions. Artists create their own definition of nudity and often dance on the rope of their own moral and ethical boundaries. It is up to the viewer whether or not to dance together.
An image posted here is the start of a visual conversation. I'd appreciate if we could share some thoughts in text here as well, because here on #Nostr, we can a-without being censored.
When browsing my feed, don't expect to see images designed to reinforce certain standards of beauty. Being an artist myself, I want to inspire sharing on broader themes that go beyond physical attraction. By recognizing how mass media reproduce perceptions of sexual expression for economic reasons, perhaps we could avoid reproducing these old fashioned power structures.
Photographers like Araki, Thery Richardson and certainly many others -
there was no doubt that they had sexually assaulted their models.
All of this could thrive in a toxic environment.
A lill context about the images you're posting, and also a bit self-reflection on why, can spark a healthy, artful conversation.
You don't have to explain in detail what you're going to post. But maybe you decide what you think is worth protecting. :) ❤️
