Yeah sometimes sitting in a marina costs less than rent would be in the same city. Not always though. Super touristy places, probably not. If I was in Madeira and had a boat, I'd head to the Adriatic sea for a bit, and then Egypt. Something like a year long sailing bebop between Bari, Dubrovnik, and Corfu, and all the little gems in the area, and then get a slip somewhere in the Nile delta area and bus to Giza/Osirion/Luxor. Then... India. Mmm that would just be the perfect adventure...
