Trying to work on intricate technical problems and communicate a sense of joy in doing so while I have 24/7 instant access to real-time high-fidelity information about the violent downfall of my civilization and the increasing corruption of all its systems — much of which is facilitated by the kinds of technology I have expertise in — is an interesting motivational challenge.
I want to face that challenge, but I don't need therapy, I need people to stop being so evil and/or stupid all the time.
