Synching is a daemon with a localhost web interface usually. You set up a systemd service and that's it, every now and then you'll go to 127.0.0.1 (I forgot the port lol) and add a folder or something. On the phone, there's an app in f-droid called syncthing-fork which is a little better than the default build, I forget how but I picked it for a reason.
