A few initial thoughts:
* It's easy to love shitposting from a selected group of elite users. As you scale, you rapidly slide down the quality scale.
* That can easily become a vicious cycle, where worsening content drives off the better posters and makes worse ones feel more comfortable. Endpoint: 4chan.
* I totally agree that "If Bluesky wants to be a genuine rival to Twitter, it needs to protect vulnerable communities".
* The fundamental question for anybody trying to rival Twitter is: can they afford to give a good user experience? Twitter's revenue is ~$0.01/tweet. That does not buy a lot of safety.
