I'm seriously wondering which is going to last longer: me or the United States.
The US re-invented itself with the post civil war amendments (13, 14, & 15 - even though SCOTUS tried, with some success, to dismember them.)
We are going to need a similar re-invention, one that redresses power imbalances (like excess executive power, filibuster, emperor-for-life judges, unlimited pardon, religion-uber-alles suppression of liberties, etc.)
Otherwise will are going to nationally fracture into coastal nations of wealth and cosmopolitan contact with the world and fundamental-religionist, agrarian center nations that are much like the world of central Asia.
