Yes. For decades the most common was the "Economy 7" tariff which, as the name implies, gave cheaper electricity for 7 hours overnight. This was mostly used for storage heaters. (Heat a block of concrete overnight and it discharges all day.)
With the introduction of smart meter a few years ago, variable pricing has become possible.
