I vividly recall my mother’s intense fear of household bugs and germs that could potentially harm her children. My father, perpetually occupied with work, couldn’t alleviate her concerns. Imagine being a responsible parent, tasked with safeguarding your children’s well-being, yet feeling inadequate to fulfill that role perfectly. Many mothers from previous generations were deeply influenced by the marketing tactics of major companies selling a wide range of household products. As a millennial woman with a deeper understanding of marketing, I often empathize with my mother, who would have endured decades of worry fueled by the unduly persuasive campaigns of these brands.
