That piece of shit gemini arrived in my google drive. In the single conversation I had about it on the topic "how do I turn you off", it (a) hallucinated UI controls and settings pages that don't exist, (b) gaslit me by stating that gemini is already off in my workspace IN THE "CONVERSATION" WHERE IT'S SPEWING BITS AT ME, (c) somehow decided that my repeated mention of gemini meant I was excited to learn more and linked me to a vapid knowledgebase article. At no point did it produce any useful outcome.
I'm staggered that this was ever let out of the lab. It's such an embarrassing waste. Even more pathetic is the people in charge know this at some level, and have to hide the buttons to make it fuck off behind a support interaction just to keep the engagement metrics from burning.
