In 2000, Indian food in Sydney (I was living there) was just making some headway. In Surry Hills- Cleveland St just off Crown St - there was an amazing Indian place, vegetarian, mainly visited by Indian people. No niceties, very much like some crowded eateries I have visited in India. The food was divine. I took all my family and friends there. (Sadly I forget its name. It had a sister place across the road for Western people, but I didn't like it as much.) (Now I remember - Maya!)
We always finished with Jalebi.
