If everyone's there, then everyone's gotta be there; you can't not get on board, because everybody else is. But if everyone's kinda meh then... nobody goes. Empty restaurant syndrome. Apple have, I think, grown the belief that everyone having to come to their party is their birthright rather than a thing earned, which might come back to bite them here (and elsewhere).
