The town I grew up in went this route. It's not just the gay, lesbians, teachers or whatever. DINK, Double income no kids, often retirees moving in. There's not enough kids to teach, so like magic, the school board that has been running these small towns end up getting behind mass refugee resettlement to save their own jobs. This destroys small young families that actually create a future by having a family.
