Is there a name for the type of bias that leads people to believe that a metric that is easy to measure is more important/impactful than one that is hard to test?
Like how programmers can be measured on lines of code per hour (easy to measure), rather than the quality of that code (hard).
Or how covid "infections" became all the rage as soon as PCR hit the scene, rather than a more useful metric like deaths (which can have many causes)
